If you have chest pain, shortness of breath even at rest, blue around your lips or fingers, feel very sick or having seizures call 9-1-1 or go to emergency room.
Tell ER staff that you have COPD and share your other illnesses

If you have any of these symptoms, contact your health care team today:

  • If you have a fever, a temperature over 100.4 F
  • New or worsening cough
  • Worsening shortness of breath
  • More mucus or change in mucus color
  • Increased difficulty with usual activities: unable to take a shower, walk to bathroom and get dressed.

  • Wash your hands regularly, with warm water and soap. Especially when around other people.
  • Set up routines and reminders for your medicine
  • Do not change your amount or stop taking your medicine without first discussing it with your care team
  • Review your inhaler technique or dosing if you feel medicine is not working
  • Write down all side effects and symptoms you have and share them with your care team ,
  • Speak with your care team before taking over-the-counter drugs, herbs, supplements, or vitamins
  • Carry a list of your medications with you and share with medical providers
